“Every. Single. Day. I woke up with 2 choices in the fore front of my mind. Endure? Or Give up and quit? Every single day I chose to endure. And choosing to endure leads us to mature.”
Years ago, I spent 18 months in rehab. The last time I told someone this they proceeded to ask me if I was in a bad car accident, what I broke, and if I had to re-learn how to walk. "No...like the drug kind of rehab. You know, addiction?" By the look on his face you would have thought I just told him the most ghastly news. "Actually, you're right, I did re-learn how to walk."
It was not pretty folks.
Every. Single. Day. I woke up with 2 choices in the fore front of my mind. Endure. Or Give up and quit. And Every. Single. Day. I chose "endurance". And choosing to endure leads us to mature.
Today I am married with 6 kids. My husband and I both started over with absolutely nothing; we bought our first home this year! There is a list longer than I can put here of our accomplishments. We are blessed beyond all measure, literally.
A lot has changed since that first day of rehab...but one thing has never changed. Those 2 choices. Every. Single. Day.
Endure & Mature? Or quit.
Everything we go through in life, everything, requires one of these 2 choices to be made!
So here you have it.☕
Why the blogging; why the page? Enduring & Maturing is a place where Christian men and woman can be free to be real and raw and honest AND KNOW you're most certainly not alone. God is with us everyday in the good and the bad and the ugly. I'm tired of the games folks. I'm tired of religious games. You know, where you have to pretend you're perfect and have your life together? I have experienced the absolutely real Jesus and the real love of God. Religion and religious rules never helped any one. The Jesus I know sees people through every storm, every high, every low, He sees us trying to be good humans. The Jesus I know appreciates honesty, being real, being yourself, and knowing apart from Him none of us are worthy. Not a single one of us. The Jesus I know Loves every person on the face of this planet.
We're just here, enduring through life & maturing in Christ;

the human experience

with love, Edie.
And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:4
Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. Romans 5:3-4
